Cosmos Bazar Inc. was founded in Binondo, Manila on 1926. It started out as a general merchandise store specializing in toys and cosmetic products. Near the end of the Japanese occupation in World War II, the original store along Quintin Paredes Street was burned down along with most of Binondo. It has since moved to its present location along the same street. Its present modern building was completed in May 1999 after the old building in the same location burned down in February 1997.

The company has evolved through the years, and has gone through numerous changes in terms of product lines. From the typical "bazaar" popular from the 1920’s to the 1960’s carrying a wide range of products, it has now focused its energies on writing instruments and cosmetics. Presently, it is the exclusive distributor of Pilot writing instruments and Kokuryu cosmetics in the country.

It also carries various other related products such as Tancho hair grooming products and Bigen hair dye.

Today, it stands as one of the oldest and most respected companies in Manila.
